10th International Conference
Decarbonization, sustainability and energy saving
The 10th Jubilee International Conference WINDOW DAY 2023 – ift Rosenheim Hrvatska is behind us. The conference gathered 300 guests / participants, experts from the industry from 8 countries in the region.
Participants was: manufacturers of windows, doors, facades, glass, fittings, seals, architects, designers, renowned suppliers of PVC and aluminium systems and other experts from the sector. Conference WINDOW DAY 2023 – ift Rosenheim Hrvatska from the first day is designed as an educational platform, an event on which we from the ift Rosenheim Institute pass on to our clients news in the field of legislatives, norms and standardization, laboratory tests, surveillance and certification towards windows, doors, facades, glass, fittings, etc. The WINDOW DAY conference is also a place where the profession meets experiences, a place of discussion and networking, socializing with all experts in the field of building sector and related niches in one place. So even at this jubilee 10th conference, there was no falsification of interest, the participants of the discussions and the talks continued even after the official part. Conference WINDOW DAY was opened by Mr. Hrvoje Komac (director ift Rosenheim Hrvatska) and greeted the guests in a couple of words, introduced us to the program and topics, and commented on the history of the conference from the first of 2013 until today 2023. The introduction was joined by the board member of ift Rosenheim Germany Mr. Michael Breckl-Stock who greeted all the guests in front of the Institute.
The themes of the day have been carefully chosen, precisely by giving answers to current issues in the industry and the challenging market, and following European trends and guidelines. Throughout the day, we were taught by experts from the ift Rosenheim Institute Germany, but also other experts from their fields who have been cooperating with us for many years. There was talk about installing windows and doors through a theme lectured by Mr. David Hepp (ift Rosenheim), then we continued with the news in glass certification which brought us closer from Mrs. Carolin Lamprecht (ift Rosenheim), we also touched on the always essential fire resistance topic that drew our attention from Mrs Christine Schmaus (ift Rosenheim) and after the first block of lectures we opened a panel discussion where all participants could ask questions. The discussion was attended by Mr. Robert Križanović (Gealan), Mr. Aleksandar Terer (Profine), Mr. Krešimir Posilović (Rehau), Mr. Josip Klasić (Deceuninck) and architect Mr. Natko Bilić. The discussion raised many questions from the audience and especially on the topic of thermal transmittance of windows (Uw). After a break for socializing and networking, in the second part of the day we processed the increasingly present topic of circular management and decarbonisation, and there was talk of EPD, CO2 carbon footprint of the product, LCA, as a prerequisite for building certification. Mr. Roland Fischer (ift Rosenheim) told us about the sustainability of the buildings. Mr. Zoran Veršić, a professor from the Faculty of Architecture in Zagreb spoke about CO2 emissions in the lifetime of buildings and Mr. Alexander Riemer (AluKönigStahl) in a very interesting and picturesque way rounded out the story of EPD (Environmental Product Declaration).
The second panel discussion on EPD was attended by dear guests Mr. Zlatko Franolić (KFK), Mr. Damir Šimunović (Feal), Mrs. Antonija Šerdoner (Pana Windows) and Mr. Viktor Segedi (Emerus). Our guest speaker Mr. Michel Sieffert (Gealan) brought us closer to climate neutrality, optimizing raw materials to reducing CO2, and touched on recycling in the PVC profile. Finally Mr. Stefan Ude (ift Rosenheim) presented new advisory services introduced by the ift Rosenheim group this year.
The 10th conference WINDOW DAY, we ended with the panel discussion at which Mr. Ivica Maurović (Gealan), Michael Breckl-Stock (ift Rosenheim), Roland Fischer (ift Rosenheim) and Mr. Hrvoje Komac (ift Rosenheim Hrvatska) gave their closing remarks and conclusions. After the official part of the conference, socializing continued at the after party until evening.
All lectures and official photos and conclusions can be found on the website.
The WINDOW DAY conference once again proved to be the leading annual event of this sector.
