In line with environmental challenges and construction innovations
The 11th international conference WINDOW DAY ift Rosenheim Hrvatska was held last week.
The conference gathered 350 guests/participants, industry experts from 10 countries of the region.
At the conference were manufacturers of building products (both wooden, PVC and ALU), manufacturers of windows, doors, facades, manufacturers of glass, hardware, seals, tools, as well as respected architects, designers, renowned suppliers of PVC and aluminum systems, and other experts from the sector . The conference WINDOW DAY ift Rosenheim Hrvatska was designed from the first day as an educational platform, an event where we from the leading German institute for window technology and as the largest laboratory in Europe, ift Rosenheim, transfer to our clients news from the field of legislation, norms and standardization, laboratory tests, supervision and certification, as well as current topics from the branch focused on windows, doors, facades, glass, hardware, etc.
WINDOW DAY is also a place where the profession exchanges experiences, a place for discussions and networking, socializing with all experts in the field of construction sector and related niches in one place. Thus, there was no lack of interest at this 11th conference, in fact, the discussions and conversations continued even after the official part.
The WINDOW DAY conference once again asserted itself as the leading educational and professional event in the region.
WINDOW DAY was opened by Mr. Hrvoje Komac (director of ift Rosenheim Croatia) and in a few words he greeted the guests and introduced us to the program. The introduction was joined by Mr. Peter Plettenberg from ift Rosenheim Germany, who also greeted all participants in front of the German Institute.
The topics of the conference were carefully chosen, providing answers to current questions in the industry and the challenging market, while following European trends and guidelines. Throughout the day, we were taught by experts from the ift institute Rosenheim, Germany, as well as other experts in their fields who have been cooperating with us for many years.
There was a talk about the role of glass in buildings, a topic presented to us by Mr. Antonija Mušović from AGC Glass Europe, then Mr. Konrad Querengaesser from ift Rosenheim gave us a lecture on the laboratory testing of hardware, we also touched on the very important topic of escape routes certification that Mr. Pascal Geiger from ift Rosenheim took us through.
After a break for coffee and refreshing, we continued the working day with the topic of climate resilience of windows to extreme conditions, vividly presented by my colleague Robert Krippahl from ift Rosenheim. Following with a very important topic from Professor Zoran Veršić from the Faculty of Architecture about the iimpact of shutters on the thermal and sound characteristics of windows, and there was also talk about the professional installation of windows in old buildings by Mr. Martin Hessler from ift Rosenheim.
This was followed by a panel discussion and a review of the situation of the construction market in general in Germany, whose data, figures, predictions and conclusions were presented to us by Mr. Hrvoje Komac from ift Rosenheim Hrvatska. The challenges faced by window manufacturers in terms of opening new markets and the current situation on the Croatian market were also mentioned. A whole series of useful information that was passed on to us by Mr. Krešimir Posilović from Rehau, Robet Križanović from Gealan, Josip Šimunec from Deceuninck and Prof. Zoran Veršić.
The third block of lectures, after the lunch break, has started with the increasingly frequent topic of EPD and decarbonization progress, which was presented to us by Mr. Christoph Seehauser from ift Rosenheim, we continued with the topic of carbon control in practice by Mr. Alexander Riemer from Alukoenigstahl Austria, who is very interesting to us explained in an interesting way why achieving climate neutrality in construction is the biggest challenge of our time and how to reduce CO2 emissions.
Ms. Snježana Turalija from Greenika joined the moderation of the third block of lectures, related to decarbonization and EPD, who, with her many years of experience as an expert in this narrow part, introduced and guided the audience to the increasingly topical topic of the carbon footprint. We concluded the conference with Mr. Peter Plettenberg’s topic on fire resistance and the possibilities and capacities of the ift Rosenheim laboratory.
The entire conference was led by our long-term moderator, Mr. Marijan Kavran, with expert co-moderation by Ms. Snježana Turalija in the third lecture part.
