Window Day 2026 ift Rosenheim Hrvatska

Windows and Architecture: From Conceptual Design to a Sustainable Building

About

International Conference WINDOW DAY 2026 was held on March 11, 2026, at the congress center of Hotel Antunović in Zagreb. The conference was organized by ift Rosenheim Hrvatska and ift Rosenheim Germany, and the event brought together around 300 experts from the window and door industry. Among the participants were manufacturers of windows and doors, profile suppliers, glass and hardware manufacturers, architects, designers and investors from Croatia as well as from numerous European countries, including Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Germany, Austria, Italy, Romania, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Key objectives of the conference

The conference once again confirmed its important role as a central meeting point for experts from the window and façade industry, with the aim of exchanging knowledge, monitoring regulatory changes and presenting technological innovations. Special emphasis was placed on education about new construction products, upcoming changes to European standards, legislative developments, proper installation of joinery, and practical challenges related to on-site supervision and compliance of technical documentation.

The conference program was divided into an educational and an exhibition part. The educational segment included a series of expert presentations with an interactive character, panel discussions and open debates on current topics in the sector. The exhibition part enabled participants to have direct contact with manufacturers and suppliers, as well as opportunities for networking, exchange of experiences and presentation of sustainable products, new technologies and innovative solutions.

Expert presentations and thematic blocks

In terms of content, the conference was structured into three thematic blocks covering key challenges and development directions of the industry.

In the first block, Standards of the Future: From Market Trends to Technical Excellence” discussions focused on changes in the global window and façade market, the impact of new requirements on the industry, and the future of the product standard EN 14351-1. Special attention was also given to identifying and preventing the most common mistakes in window installation.

The second block, Regulation in Practice: Quality Assurance for Demanding Structures” provided an overview of technical regulations in the field of thermal and acoustic insulation and the practical application of the Declaration of Performance. Through a panel discussion, participants exchanged experiences regarding challenges in implementing demanding projects and ensuring quality during design and construction.

The third thematic block, Digital Future and On-Site Reality” was dedicated to the digitalization of the sector, with a special focus on the digital product passport and its role in the future management of construction products. The panel discussion further addressed issues of supervision on construction sites, inconsistencies in documentation and provided practical clarifications for the everyday work of professionals in the sector.

Conclusions of the conference

In conclusion, the WINDOW DAY 2026 conference confirmed that the window and door industry is actively following changes in the European legislative and technological environment and demonstrates a high level of expertise and readiness to adapt to new market requirements. The exchange of knowledge, experiences and examples of good practice further strengthened cooperation among participants and contributed to the development of higher-quality, safer and more sustainable solutions in construction.
