Window Day 2025 ift Rosenheim Hrvatska

On March 26, 2025, the 12th International Conference WINDOW DAY 2025 – ift Rosenheim Hrvatska was held at the congress center of the Antunović Hotel in Zagreb, organized in cooperation with ift Rosenheim Hrvatska and ift Rosenheim Germany. This prominent professional event brought together more than 300 experts from the building joinery sector, including window and door manufacturers, profile suppliers, glass and hardware producers, architects, designers, and investors from Croatia and neighboring countries.

Key Objectives of the Conference

The conference focused on educating participants about the latest construction products, European standards, technological innovations, and legislative regulations related to European directives and manufacturers’ obligations. It also emphasized sustainability and the proper installation of building joinery. The program consisted of educational and exhibition segments.

• The educational segment included expert lectures, interactive panel discussions, and presentations on current industry topics.
• The exhibition segment provided opportunities for networking and experience exchange, where participants could explore innovative products and technologies.

Expert Lectures and Thematic Blocks

The conference was divided into three thematic blocks:

1. Glass: Solutions and Trends

• Use of glass in windows and doors – innovative applications of glass in modern construction were considered, with an emphasis on energy efficiency and aesthetic aspects.
• Glass in traffic areas – the specifics of using glass in high-traffic areas were discussed, including safety requirements and sound insulation.
• Glazed Facades of Buildings – Methods and Guidelines for Durable and High-Quality Glazing – techniques and recommendations for long-lasting and high-quality facade glazing were presented, taking into account static and dynamic loads as well as climatic conditions.

2. Sustainability and Energy Efficiency

• Sustainability and recycling – Glass in the circular economy – possibilities for recycling PVC and aluminum.
• EPD, CO₂, LCA –  status after 3 years of implementation: Progress in the implementation of EPD, LCA, and CO₂ emission reduction in the construction sector was analyzed. The prerequisites for building certification, where product EPDs play a key role, were also discussed.
• New window testing – climate.safe.building – resistance to climate change.

3. Installation of Windows and Doors

• Installation, one of the most important gearwheels – the key role of proper window and door installation in achieving optimal performance and product longevity was highlighted.
• New ift Rosenheim guideline on vandalism – new guidelines for protecting windows and doors from vandalism were presented, including recommendations for material selection and construction solutions.
• New Version of DIN 18040 standard – Barrier-free construction, impact on the industry –  the updated standard for building accessibility was discussed, with a special focus on clear passages and corridors and their impact on the design and production of building joinery.

Lectures were held in Croatian, with simultaneous translation for parts of the presentations in English and German.

Conference Conclusions

The WINDOW DAY 2025 – ift Rosenheim Hrvatska conference once again confirmed its status as the leading professional event in the region. Participants had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of innovations, technological standards, and sustainable solutions, while the exhibition segment facilitated valuable business contacts and experience exchange.
